Other names of the Quran are Nur, Bashir, Dhikr, Majid, Al-Shifaa. The revelation(wahyi) of Quran, revelation means to make known to inspire or to teach. The process of transmission of divine words to Allah creatures occurred in different ways, inspiration,  through dreams, spoken words behind a veil, through angel Jibril.

The roles of Angel Jibril in the revelation of the Quran: he lowered the Quran from lahwhul Mahfudh (Well preserved tablet) in the seventh heaven to Baithul Izza in the lowest heaven.

He lowered the Quran from Baithul Izza to earth and revealed it in portion to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) through out his 23 years of Prophet Hood. He taught the Prophet on how to recite the Quran correctly.

He assisted the Prophet in the order and arrangements of the Quran.  He also helped him in memorising the Quran during revelation.
